Look No Further (LNF) Success in Florida

I’m heading to Florida over Christmas and was looking for hotel rooms in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando to  help me reach the Marriott platinum level . I was floored to find some great rates on Kayak.com that were lower than Marriott.com and consequently qualify for the Look No Further price adjustment. Our first stop will be the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North where I snagged a rate $119 on Marriott.com. I found a rate of $102,59 on kayak.com, which got me a LNF rate of $76.94. The second stop on our trip will be Orlando and I saw a rate on kayak.com for the  Orlando World Center Marriott. The rate on Marriott.com was a eye-popping $249/night. Kayak.com had a rate of $145.88, which got me a LNF rate of $109.41.  

The Look No Further program and other similar best rate guarantees at other hotels provide great saving opportunities and a great arrow to have in your travel budget quiver.

Flyin’ First Class to Cali!

We finally decided that we were actually going to California for Thanksgiving even though we had reservation at Marriott Newport Coast Villas for months. With that decision made, I turned my attention to airfare and quickly decided that I wasn’t flying in coach coast to coast.  After doing a quick search, I decided on flying United in Business/First from JFK to LAX. The cost was 50k united miles each, twice the coach fare. To me that was well worth it. Then I read here from The Points Guy, United was retrofitting the entire fleet that flies that route, replacing first and business class seats with Business First lie flat seats by the end of the summer. Score!  To top things off, we needed a hotel at LAX the night before our return home and was lucky to score a Look No Further rate at the Renaissance LAX for $85, about $100 of the marriott.com rate.

Two More Best Rate (Price) Guarantee Successes!

This week I scored two more best rate (price) guarantees. The first one was through the Intercontinental Best Price Guarantee where I got a free night at the Holiday Inn Express at Madison Square Garden for early January. The Intercontinental Best Price Guarantee states your first night is free when you find a lower price on a non-Intercontinental hotel website. That is even if your reservation is only for one night. So I made a reservation at $184 per night on priorityclub.com and found a $148 rate on kayak.com. I filled out the claim form and a few house later, the claim was approved.

The other success was via the Marriott Best Rate Guarantee, where my wife needed a room at Los Angeles Airport in February.  I booked a $239 rate on Marriott.com for the Los Angeles Airport Marriott and found a rate of $92.80 on kayak.com.  Marriott’s policy is 25% off the lower rate once the claim is approved, so she is staying for just under $70 for the night.

 

Marriott’s “Look No Further” (LNF) Best Rate Guarantee Bears More Fruit

Back in July, we did an add on to our Aruba trip with 5 additional days at the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and Emerald Casino. At the time I booked a $179 rate for a beach front room, which was a 15% discount to the regular rate for being a Marriott Elite member. Today I checked kayak.com and saw that easyclicktravel.com was offering a $4 per night discount to regular Marriott.com rates. I made another reservation today, but this time for a resort view room, and filled out a LNF claim form.  The Marriott.com rate was $179/night, while easyclicktravel.com was at $175. Lo and behold, the LNF claim was approved at my new room rate is $130.98/night. Marriott’s LNF Best Rate Guarantee is the gift that keeps on giving.

More Success With Marriott’s “Look No Further” Best Rate Guarantee

I’m new at putting in claims for Marriott’s “Look No Further” Best Rate Guarantee but I’m very impressed with what I’ve been able to do within the last month. Yesterday, I scored a $104.25 rate at the Courtyard Downtown in St. Petersburg Fla compared to $169/night on marriott.com.  I will typically look at kayak.com to find a better rate than marriott.com, but this time no success. For some reason, I decided to check out travelocity.com and a $139/night rate popped up. Marriott will give you the lower rate + an additional 25% off which is a killer deal. I’m definitely hooked on this whenever I need to pay for a hotel room.

Success with Marriott’s “Look No Further Best Rate Guarantee” Redux

Last week I wrote here how I knocked off over $200 on a room rate at the Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Resort on an extra night we needed for our November trip. Well, I decided to check back and see if any rate changes occurred over the past week and was amazed when I saw kayak.com had reduced the room another $90/night to $199/night.  Not wanting to screw up my existing reservation there, I decided to book another reservation through marriott.com at the same rate I previously got ($424/night) and put through another “Look No Further Best Rate Guarantee” claim. Within twelve hours I have saved an additional $70/night and reduced my rate on the one night stay to $149.25/night. So what started out with me paying nearly $425 for the night (I wouldn’t have paid that anyway), I am now paying just under $150, a savings of over $275.

Success with Marriott’s “Look No Further Best Rate Guarantee”

We will be vacationing in St. Thomas in November and staying at the Marriott Frenchman’s Cove timeshare and needed an extra night since we will be staying 8 days. There aren’t a ton of hotels on St. Thomas and just recently some availability came open at Marriott Frenchman’s Reef, but the room rate was a ridiculous $425/night.  I searched around and saw that Kayak had rates for the night I needed at $290/night.

Marriott has a “Look No Further Best Rate Guarantee” where Marriott will match a lower price and give you a 25% discount on the lower price in the first 24 hours after making your reservation. Doing some quick math in my head, I figured I should be able to save about $200 on the room.

I filed the online claim form and the lower rate was accepted with my price for the room $216.75, almost a 50% reduction in room rate.  They also gave me an upgraded view.

This was my first time using “Look No Further” and I must say was pretty pleased with the results.
